Mosaics have been my prime artistic passion for over twenty years. I love the movement and texture, the sculptural capacity, the tactile nature of the work.
I like to work in very traditional techniques, primarily using a hammer and hardie to prepare my tesserae. My preferred materials are marble and smalti.
I first learnt leadlighting thirty years ago, and have recently started working in this beautiful medium again, both making and repairing window panels.
I have created mosaic and glass installations both locally and interstate, and have exhibited in local shows and at The Lone Goat Gallery in Byron Bay. I open my studio every year as part of the Ballina, Byron and Beyond Artists Trail, and exhibit each year in MAT (Murwillumbah Art Trail).
As well as being a practising artist, I teach both mosaics and leadlighting in my studio in Mullumbimby, in the hills behind Byron Bay, Australia.
