A sophisticated white during the day, and a glowing cube of light at night-time, this beautifully crafted candle holder is created using hundreds of fine pieces of crystal clear glass, each carefully mosaiced and grouted onto an upcycled opaque glass lampshade. The candlelight shining through the mosaic gives a gentle magical glow to any setting, indoors or out, and creates the perfect mood for either relaxing or romancing.
The Golden Cube is 160mm tall and 120mm wide, and comes with two tea light candles for soft, brighter or glowing light, as you choose. A fine pair of bamboo tongs is provided for you to use when placing or removing the candles from the elegant mouth of the candle holder. A simple, subtle wooden base is attached for the Golden Cube to rest on, and a small bag of fine white sand from beautiful Byron Bay is provided for you to nestle the candles into.
This hand-crafted item is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. It will get quite hot whilst holding lit candles, so careful handling is required. Children should not play with this candle-holder. For cleaning, if required, the candle holder can be gently washed in the sink with clean warm water and a soft cloth.

Sometimes candles and candle holders look better with more - along the dinner table, for instance, or dotted around the courtyard. This item can be made to order if more than one is requested. It can also be made in any of a multitude of different colours. Your candle holder, in whichever colours you choose, will be made especially to your order, and will have a production time of 14-21 days, depending on how busy I am in the studio. Just contact me to arrange a custom-made creation.

Your candle holder, though quite solid and heavy, is still made of glass and is therefore a fragile item to post. You can be sure that it will be carefully packed, using recycled packaging materials from my studio wherever possible, and will reach you safely. I am committed, at all times, to operating my business in every way I can to be kinder and gentler to the planet. Your postage costs include full packaging and full insurance.

As with all Goosehouse Designs products, this unique candleholder is individually handcrafted by me in my studio. My upcycled, sustainable, products are crafted from ethically-sourced, pre-damaged, or discarded materials that would otherwise end up in landfill. They are the perfect romantic gift for wedding anniversaries, birthdays, Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day and any time you want to show your love through a treasured piece of handcrafted art.

Golden Cube glass mosaic candle holder

  • This glass mosaic candleholder has been crafted using an old broken light fitting, salvaged from the Mullumbimby Tip Shop. The glass used for the mosaic overlay is left-over off-cuts from my leadlighting practice. Rather than simply throw out the spare bits, I decided to use them to create these glowing centres of light.

The glass pieces have been carefully glued onto the form, and then firmly grouted in place. Each form has a wooden base or wooden ring for the candleholder to sit on. Whilst the glass part of the form is waterproof, the wooden base is not.

This cube/orb can be used inside and outside, but it is best not to let it sit in bad weather outside. If the timber base gets too wet it will absorb water, which could damage it.

Care needs to be taken when handling and using your candleholder. The cube, or orb, is quite heavy, with a slightly rough surface - be sure not to drop it or cut yourself.

When a candle is lit, like all glass meeting heat, the candleholder will get very, very hot. Be careful with children near the hot glass. Do not touch the form whilst it is hot.

Cleaning your orb or cube is easy. For regular dusting, simply wipe over the surface with a damp cloth. If the candleholder is really grubby, you can run it under hot water, with some detergent, and use a nail brush to give it a gentle scrub. Be careful not to let the timber base get wet.

Do not scrub with a wire brush, nor use harsh chemicals, on your candleholder.
