Maxwell & Williams dates back to 1963. Harry and Ann Grundmann emigrated to Australia in 1961 to forge a new life. They started their wholesale company HAG Imports, and imported European homewares to the Australian market.
Harry and Ann retired in the Seventies, and their son Max Grundmann took over the running of the business.
Along with experienced retailer Bill Ryan, Max expanded the business into their own brand, Maxwell and Williams, and so the now iconic 'White Basics' was introduced to the Australian market. It still retains itself as a top selling tableware range today.
This jewellery was crafted from a mug in the pattern Daisy Shadow, created by Australian designer Claire Chilcott.
This mug was probably manufactured in the last 15 years or so.
Please note - these earrings are cut from a mug, so the large circles are slightly curved when resting in the bezel - they do not sit perfectly flat. The curve is slight, and can be seen and felt only on close inspection. I personally don't mind this, and think these earrings look so good that the slight curve is not a problem for me, but it's best you know about it if you are thinking of buying these.
The pieces are still securely bedded in the bezel.

The silver in these earrings is sterling silver, and is stamped with the .925 stamp.
The hooks and links are sterling silver.
The large rounds of these earrings measure 24mm across x 5mm deep.
The smaller drop rounds measure 15mm across x 5mm deep.
They weigh about 85gms.
